An IT organization of our size, requires clear processes throughout. To assist us in managing IT better, we have adopted three major international methodologies:

ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) provides a framework of 'best practice' guidance for IT Service Management as a discipline and has become the most widely used and accepted approach to IT Service Management globally. We recognize that information is an important strategic resource within TFG and therefore the quality of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) services is critical to support the organization’s success and started on our ITIL ‘journey’ in 2003. One of the main objectives of ITIL is to assist ICT providers to improve IT efficiency and effectiveness whilst improving the overall quality of service to the business.


The TFG Infotec Program Management Office (PMO) was established to address the need for a more formal project management approach within TFG Infotec, especially on multi-disciplinary, cross-functional, strategic projects. The TFG Infotec PMO has evolved over the past 6 years whilst simultaneously delivering on a number of the group’s key strategic initiatives. The role of the TFG Infotec Project Management Office (PMO) is to manage strategic projects (typically consisting of large programmes) using a pool of in-house project management expertise. In 2008, TFG Infotec formalised its PMO methodologies and aligned it with the Prince2 Framework, which is a process-based method for effective project management and is widely regarded as best practice.

With an increasing focus on Information Governance & Compliance, Infotec has adopted COBIT as its governance framework. The business orientation of COBIT consists of linking business goals to IT goals, providing metrics and maturity models to measure their achievement, and identifying the associated responsibilities of business and IT process owners.
